Listen and Watch the World

In the language of a layman, the word audio refers to that which can be heard or something that is heard. Similarly, the word visual related to the sense of seeing like the word audio relates to the sense of listening. There are different equipments for both audio requirements and for video requirements. The demands of the types of equipment required are determined by what purpose one needs the equipment for. When put together, we can refer to them as audio visual systems. Such systems have two components – one is visual and one is audio. There may be more than one of each.

In such a system, however, it is essential that one of each be present to call it as an audio visual system. We can even take a particular example to understand this concept. That is, the example of a movie. A movie is a good example of an audio-visual combination as it involves both he senses- that of seeing and of listening. To take an example in the corporate world, take the example of a presentation made for a business deal. Here, for instance, while using a power point presentation, both sounds and pictures are taken into account, thereby making it an audio-visual presentation.
